We’re on the lookout for skilled senior PHP developer to join our multi-award winning team – have you got what it takes?!

As a PHP Developer you will report to the Lead Developer and be involved in a large variety of web and mobile projects, writing elegant code and generally looking after your technical output. You will need to have at least three years’ commercial experience, preferably agency based (but not essential). You will also be dedicated to the latest technologies and be able to oversee the technical aspects of projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Developing and maintaining custom WordPress websites using modern tools and frameworks like Trellis, Bedrock, and Sage.
  • Creating custom plugins and themes tailored to client requirements.
  • Collaborating with our in-house design and marketing teams to deliver seamless, high performing solutions.
  • Troubleshooting and debugging to optimise website performance.
  • Ensuring security best practices are followed, particularly in WordPress development.
  • Contributing to technical discussions during our monthly web forum, where we review progress and set new goals.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3/4 years of experience in WordPress development, including custom theme and plugin development.
  • Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern frameworks/tools.
  • Familiarity with deployment tools like Trellis and site structures like Bedrock.
  • Proficient in version control using Git, including branching, merging, and managing pull requests in collaborative development environments.
  • A strong understanding of website performance optimisation and security best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A passion for staying updated with the latest trends in web development.
